Birchfield Harriers is offering two programmes for young people who want to try athletics following the success of the Olympics Games.
The first of these starts on Tuesday 14 August when the Club will be running an Aviva Startrack programme for youngsters aged 8 to 14. The programme runs for four hours on four days and gives budding athletes the opportunity to try every discipline in the sport.
“We run the event from our home track, the Alexander Stadium with fully qualified coaches to introduce new athletes to all the events. The Aviva Startrack programme has been the starting point for many international athletes over the years and is one of the best ways to get started in the sport”, said Club Chair Andy Paul.
There are two Aviva Startrack programmes this summer:
14 – 17 August
28th – 31st August
both will be at the Alexander Stadium at a cost of £40. Places should be pr-booked through the office on 0121 344 4858 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Club is also holding an induction morning for its Academy programme at 9.30am on Saturday 18th August which caters for 9-13 year olds. The Academy runs regularly every Saturday morning and once again gives young people the opportunity to try every discipline from sprinting to throwing.
