Our senior athletes have been in the news recently and now it is the turn of our youngsters to demonstrate the talent in the lower age groups of the Club.

The first weekend of March saw 16 of our young athletes representing Birmingham in the West Midlands Regional Sportshall finals. An impressive medal haul saw the U13s and U15 s win 22 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. The performance of the day came from LDC sponsored Kai Chambers-Brown, who was the overall winner in the U15 age group with maximum points across his events. He was closely followed by team mate Tyrell Wilkinson-Greene who second in the overall competition.

Kai Chambers Brown –  2 lap race, Shot, standing triple jump and 4 x 2 lap relay

Tyrell Wilkinson-Greene – 4 x 2 lap relay

Ross Beale – 8 lap Paarlauf


All the teams will now travel to Manchester on the weekend of 25 April to compete in the National Finals. Birchfield coaches Sharon Morris and Brian Holyfield were team managers for the U13 team and were delighted by the contribution from Birchfield’s youngsters to the overall performance of the teams.
