Over the weekend our athletes have been taking part both indoors and cross country.

Sally Peake won her event with a clearance of 4.23 whilst Elizabeth Eden cleared a height of 3.73 which was just 2 cm below her personal best. In the men’s event Jack Phipps cleared a height of 5.13 and finished 6th whilst Cameron Walker-Shepherd had a seasons best with 5.03 finishing 8th.
European Throwing Cup, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain on Saturday and Sunday 11-12 March 2017
We had two representatives at this event. In U23 Women Shot Adele Nicoll finished 3rd with a throw of 16.21 which was a seasons best, whilst in senior men hammer Chris Shorthouse threw 67.22 finishing in 6th.
British Masters Championships, Lee Valley on Saturday and Sunday 11-12 March 2017
Michelle Thomas (V45) won 60 metres with a time of 8.24 whilst Sharon Samuel (V50) had a personal best in her event finishing 3rd with a time of 9.35. In 3000 walk, Peter Boszko (V65) finished 2nd with a seasons best time of 16:43.39.

In the senior women race Chloe Richardson (U23) finished 6th. In U20 Men, Will Richardson finished 10th whilst Reis Brooke finished 84th. In the U20 Women, Fian Sweeney finished 18th, followed by Bryony Gunn in 29th and Karys Amory in 78th. In U15 Boys, Michael Gayle finished in 162nd, Ryan Shields in 194th and Daniel Swain in 238th. Finally in U13 Boys Ryan Hand finished in 123rd.
England Athletics U15/U17 Combined Events Championships, Sheffield on Saturday and Sunday, 11-12 March 2017
We only had one representative in the U15 Girls. Rosina Orton had a personal best in the pentathlon with 1988 points. In the individual events, she had personal bests in 4 out of 5 events. They were; 60 metres hurdles 10.45, Shot 7.35, High Jump 1.19 and 800 metres 2:50.59. In Long Jump her distance was 3.70.
