It was another busy week for our athletes.

England Athletics U15/U17/U20 Championships held at Sheffield on Saturday and Sunday, 24 and 25 February 2018

The stags came away with 2 golds, one silver and one bronze from the above championship. In U15 Girls high jump, Rhianna Burrell cleared 1.62 to finish in fit place. In the 200 metres boys, Oshay Williams won the race in 22.58 (he had a personal best of 22.54 in the semis). Charles Hilliard finished second in 400 metres U20 men in a time of 48.39, which was a personal best. In U17 60 metres hurdles boys, Zachary Elliott finished 3rd in a personal time of 8.32. ECCA Saucony English National Championships at Parliament Hill on Saturday, 24 February 2018

Although we could not field our best teams, the athletes that competed made us proud. In the senior women’s race, Sarah Conway (V35) finished in 190th, Elizabeth Watters in 209th, Frances Vickers (V35) in 335th and Kathryn Salt in 439th, giving us 1173 points and finishing in 32nd place. Our other representatives were Emily Weir in 939th and Wendy Morant (V50) in 1113th. There were 1173 finisher in the race.

In the senior men’s race Jonathan Cullen (V40) was our first scorer in 373rd followed by Matt Biggs (V35) in 553rd, Mike Morley (V50) 934th, Lee Harris (V40) 1088th, Peter Dimbleby (V40) 1174th and Steven Dyer (V35) 1612th. The team finished in 87th with 5734 points. Our other representatives were Christopher Collis (V45) 1891st, Keith Boxley (V45) 1937th, Andrew Moseley (V55) 2015th and Paul Maguire 2117th. There were 2328 finishers is this race.

Our sole representative in the Junior Women race was Fian Sweeney who finished in a creditable 26th place.

In U15 Boys race we also had just one representative who was Josh Robins and he finished in 92nd place.
