Four of our U15 youngsters took part in England Athletics U15 and U17 Combined Events Championships held at Sheffield on Saturday and Sunday, 10 and 11 March 2018 and all four came away with personal bests with Rhiana Burrell finishing 2nd overall. The results were:

Pentathlon U15 Girls: 2nd Rhiana Burrell 3223 pts (PB), 13th Sophia Deans 2734 pts (PB) and 43rd Lacey Dutton 2043 (PB)

Pentathlon U15 Boys: 17th Karnell Nunes-Smith 1777 pts (PB)

800 metres Girls: Rhiana Burrell 2:36.08 (PB), Sophia Deans 2:36.75 (PB), Lacey Dutton 2:59.60

800 metres Boys: Karnell Nunes-Smith 2:22.52 (PB)

60 metres Hurdles Girls: Sophia Deans 9.38, Rhiana Burrell 9.92, Lacey Dutton 10.97

60 metres Hurdles Boys: Karnell Nunes-Smith 10.47 (PB)

High Jump Girls: Rhiana Burrell 1.59, Sophia Deans 1.35 (PB), Lacey Dutton 1.26

High Jump Boys: Karnell Nunes-Smith 1.41 (PB)

Long Jump Girls: Rhiana Burrell 5.04 (PB), Lacey Dutton 4.56 (PB), Sophia Deans 4.31

Meanwhile at British Masters Championships held at Lee Valley on Saturday and Sunday, 10 and 11 March 2018, Michelle Thomas (V45) finished 2nd in 60 metres and 1st in 200 metres with times of 8.19 and 27.09 respectively. In the 3000 metres walk, Peter Boszko (V65) finished 2nd with a time of 16:24.32. Meanwhile Simon Wills (V50) competed in two events: in the shot he finished 6th with a throw of 7.80 and in the discus he also finished 6th with a personal best throw of 26.67.

CAU Inter County Championships held at Loughborough on Saturday, 10 March 2018. In the senior women race Danielle Hodgkinson finished in 21st, Bryony Gunn (U20) finished 103rd, Sarah Conway (V35) was 171st and Frances Vickers (V35) was 241. There were 270 finishers.

In the senior men, Ed Banks was 115th and Jonathan Cullen (V45) was 204th out of 284 finishers.

In U17 women, Savannah Causer was and Georgina Mitchell was 240th. 278 completed the course.

In U17 men, Michael Gayle was 217th and Hugo Villalobos Finigan was 274th. There were 281 finishers.

In U15 boys, Joshua Robins was 117th, Ryan Shields was 136th and Alex Stapleton was 186th out of 303.

We had just one runner in U13  boys who was Alex Dickson who finished in 170th out of 309.
