The World Junior Championships are being held in Tampere in Finland this week and three Stags are part of a strong GB&NI team and one is representing Ireland.

Gina Akpe-Moses will be running the 100m for Ireland and is hoping to replicate her performance at the European Junior Championships last year when she brought home the gold medal.

Kaie Chambers-Brown is rewarded for his excellent season with selection as part of the 4 x 100m relay team. His third place in the U20 England Championships, where he ran one of the fastest times in the UK this year, secured his place on the team and he is delighted to be competing in his first global championships. Kaie has been on the Birchfield Junior Development programme, supported by LDC, for a number of years and this has enabled him to access strength and conditioning and medical support which has helped his development.

Both Charles Hilliard and Ellis Greatrex are part of the 4 x 400m relay squad. Charles moved up to the 400m this year and has made his mark in the event with a personal best of 47.42 seconds. Ellis joins him in the squad and this is also their first championships.

We wish them all the success and hope to see them all achieve success in their relay teams.
