Onajite Okoro 02It has been a busy weekend for our athletes. On Saturday we were at Hendon and at Southampton for BAL and UKWAL respectively, and on Sunday, 5th August 2018, we were at Nottingham for the final match of the Midland League.

As usual, we had no 400m hurdlers, no female hurdlers, only 1 make sprint hurdler, only 1 female pole vaulter and only 1 female 1500m runner. Despite this, athletes filled all the other spaces where they could. Star of the day was Onajite Okoro, who after competing at BAL the day before, went from the shot to high jump, to the pole vault, to the 110m H and finished off with the discus. He then stayed around to see if he was needed for either of the relays. That’s the commitment and belief that as a team we could win the League. Close behind was Susie McManus, who had competed in Southampton on Saturday, came to do the 800m and 4 x 400m relay but offered to run the 400m to get points.

Well done Lyn Orbell, the team manager and thank you to all the club officials, coaches, athletes and parents for their continuing support for the League.
