LDC Junior Development

LDC is the leading UK regional mid-market private equity house and part of the Lloyds Banking Group.

As part of their contribution to the communities within which they operate LDC looks to support a number of individuals and organisations in their quest for individual and team success. The relationship between business activity, community endeavours and personal development is at the heart of LDC.

In 2014 LDC has increased its support from six junior athletes to 10. These Birchfield Harriers junior athletes are being supported with sponsorship from the LDC Midlands team. LDC has committed to sponsor Birchfield Harrier’s ‘Junior Development’ programme in order to provide much needed funding support to young athletes from across the Midlands region, all of whom are considered to be rising stars in UK track and field event.

Athletes on the programme are:


Niklas Niklas Aare – Discus Niklas was ranked 10th in the UK at the end of the 2014 season. He is currently at University and combining his studies with his training.

10633826_921976881149233_9058805980558357797_o (2) Daniel Cartwright Shot and Discus Dan is in his second year as an U17 athlete and currently tops the UK rankings for both shot and discus. He is looking to gain his first GB vest in 2015.

Kai Kai Chambers-Brown – 100m and 200m Kai is very new to the sport with 2014 being his first outdoor season. He made a major impact running 10.9 for 100m and 22.6 for the 200m These performances ranked him number 1 in the UK for 100m and 3rd in the UK for 200m.

Mustafa Mustafa Mahammud – 400m Mustafa has a very strong season in 2014 only his second year in the sport. He was ranked 7th in 2014 and was third in the England Indoor championships in 2015.

Adele Nichol – Shot and Discus Adele is the number one in her age group for shot which is her main event. She has been number 1 in all the age groups and continues to dominate the event winning all the major titles in 2013. She represents Wales and is aiming to make the Commonwealth Games team for Wales in 2014.

10655253_959486330731621_4860894156802084624_o (2) Georgina Outten – 3000m  Georgina was  ranked number four in the 3km in 2014 and carried this form into the cross country season, when she was selected to represent Great Britain at the European Cross Country Championships.


Will Richardson  William Richardson – 3000m  Will has progressed well in the last two years finishing fourth in the English Championships in 2014. Ranked 10th in the UK at U17 he is now aiming to improve on this position in the U20 age group and also race at 5000m for the first tine.

Georgina (2)  Georgina Rogers – 400m Hurdles Georgina made an excellent start to her career as a 400m hurdler in 2014, winning the English Schools title and third fastest in her age group in the UK.

ydl upper  Willliam Ritchie-Moulin 110m Hurdles William moved up to the 100m hurdles in 2014 and has a successful season. He has improved his indoor times indoors this season and is now focusing on the outdoor season where he is looking to replicate his indoor form.

 Ebony Wake – Heptathlon Ebony is a talented multi event athlete who is also highly ranked in her age group in the long jump and the hurdles. She represented Great Britain in the indoor pentathlon international match in 2015 and is now looking to qualify for the European Junior championships. in the U20 indoor championships in 2014.
